Workshop on instructional design for elearning

Do you want to design challenging, activity-rich elearning that has a real
business impact? On February 11-12, 2012, I’ll lead a two-day instructional design certificate program as part of Training Magazine’s 2012 conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the workshop, I’ll help you apply a streamlined, visual approach to instructional
design that helps you change what people do, not just what they know.
The process, called action mapping, focuses all stakeholders on a measurable
business goal and quickly makes clear which activities and content will help
reach that goal.

You’ll combine performance consulting and activity design to create
compelling, behavior-changing materials that can be developed with your
current elearning tool.

Come prepared to talk confidentially about your projects and to practice
with realistic problems. Soon, you’ll be able to:

  • Pinpoint the performance improvement that you need to create
  • Tie that performance to your organization’s strategy
  • Identify why people aren’t performing and how e-learning could help
  • Help learners learn through activities, not presentations
  • Design intriguing scenarios that help learners practice making decisions
  • Cut unnecessary information – and get subject matter experts to agree
  • Identify which information should be moved into job aids
  • Choose the most effective media for your project
  • Ban information dumps from your life forever

BONUS: You’ll get three months’ access to the Elearning Blueprint, an online
reference that will help you apply your new design skills after the workshop.

This certificate program is designed for instructional designers at all
levels of experience — anyone who wants to create challenging,
activity-rich elearning that supports their organization’s strategy.
