Instructional design consulting packages

Got a project?

Instead of doing the work for you, I help you improve your team’s skills. I can:

  • Help you analyze the performance problem
  • Brainstorm solutions with you
  • Review the instructional materials that you create and help you make them lively and compelling

You’ll not only end up with a strong materials, you’ll have the skills you need to keep creating powerful elearning.

Want to train your team?

A consulting package is a great addition to one of my workshops. The workshop will get your team started, and we can use the consulting package after the session to help everyone apply their new skills to their projects.

I work one-on-one or with an entire team, using phone calls, email, and online conferencing.

Here are some examples of the work that might be included in a package, though your needs could be very different:

4 hours High-level ideas for a broader solution that includes process improvement, knowledge management, and cultural change

Detailed feedback on a 30-minute course, including some rewrites and sketches of activities

Specific scenario ideas for a project, including characters, their challenges, and a plot

$775
8 hours Specific advice and ideas for the analysis and design of your solution

Detailed review of a 30- to 60-minute course; could include mockups of suggested new activities and scenarios, rewrites of existing content, a new outline

Script for a relatively simple scenario-driven activity with descriptions or mockups of visuals

$1275

How it works

  1. Call me to talk about your needs, and we’ll choose the best package for you.
  2. I’ll send you a link for your credit card payment in advance.
  3. If necessary, we’ll sign a non-disclosure agreement. Most clients find that they don’t need any other paperwork thanks to the package approach.
  4. I’ll send you a link to my online time tracking program so you can check your balance of hours anytime.
  5. You’ll send me the background information we agreed on in our initial call, and I’ll review it.
  6. We’ll have a group call to introduce the team, clarify our goals, and create our strategy.
  7. Usually, you’ll send me materials or research that you put together as a result of the call. I’ll send you feedback, and we’ll discuss the feedback at a subsequent meeting. This cycle continues until we’re done.

Design help, not tool selection

My help focuses on analysis and design, so it’s applicable to any development tool. I don’t offer technical consulting, such as help with tool selection.
